History: Wagon Hammock Nursery

The following is a brief history of our nursery.

Wagon Hammock Nursery is an established and respected wholesale grower of premium quality shade and ornamental trees and specimen grade shrubs. A wide range of varieties are carefully grown in the field under drip irrigation and in a modern pot-in-pot system on nearly 200 well-managed acres. Located near Vidalia in southeast Georgia, the nursery benefits from the region’s fertile Tifton soil, abundant rainfall, and long growing season. Wagon Hammock Nursery has a vast array of different trees and shrubs to fit your specific needs

Wagon Hammock nursery was founded in 1989 by Mike Jordan and his father, Larry Jordan, in an effort to diversify the resources of Laranda Farms, the family’s dairy cattle operation. Diligently focusing on customer requirements and emerging market trends, Wagon Hammock Nursery quickly earned a reputation for consistently providing well-grown plants, dependable service, and exceptional overall value. Today, the nursery continues to set itself apart as a truly valuable business partner for its many satisfied customers. Our history has been a success as a result of our esteemed customers. Wagon Hammock wants to develop long lasting relationships with its customers by providing high quality trees and shrubs, as well as reliable customer service.

Wagon Hammock Nursery has always focused on the needs of its customers, and believes that the customer is actually the most important member of the nursery management team. According to Mike Jordan: “Customers provide the blueprint for everything that we do. We are absolutely committed to understanding what they must have in order to be successful, and then making sure that they can count on getting those things from us. Our real value is measured by the impact of our plants, programs, and services on the customer’s bottom line…their success becomes our success.”
